A.)Residential
1.) Solar for Residential
Solar electric systems power your home with energy created from the sun.
Solar power photovoltaic (PV) cells convert sunlight into electricity, using the power from the sun to create an electrical current within a solar panel. The Philippines has a tropical climate, therefore you received more sun during the day and produce more energy lowering down the cost of your electric bill. A photovoltaic cell (PV) is a specialized semiconductor diode that converts visible light into direct current (DC), which is then converted into an alternating current (AC) for home use.
Large sets of PV cells can be connected together to form solar modules, arrays, or panels. The use of PV cells for the generation of usable electrical energy is known as photovoltaics. One of the major advantages of photovoltaics is the fact that solar energy is unlimited and non-polluting, requiring only real estate (and a reasonably sunny climate) in order to function. Once a photovoltaic system has been installed, it can provide energy at essentially no cost for years, and with minimal maintenance.

3.) FAQ for Residential
Q. How long does it take to pay off the investment in my solar electric system?
A. It only takes about 4 to 8 years once the Philippine Government approved the REC (RA-9513).
Q: What is involved in a typical solar panel installation?
A: Solar electric installations are quite simple – the panels are mounted on the roof or in the yard and connected to an inverter mounted near the main panel in the house, which converts DC to AC.
Q: How long does it take to get solar?
A: The actual installation is quick, a few days usually. The process, including the state rebate process, takes a bit longer. But don’t worry, we will handle most of the work, and keep you apprised of the timing every step of the way. We will agree on a specific timetable for your project with you.
Q: How can I tell if solar will work on my house?
A: For the best results, the panels should have little to no shade on them during the hours of 9 AM to 3 PM throughout the year. During our visit to your site, we will conduct a “shade reading” to determine the amount of shade present at your location for the entire year.
Q: How much space do I need on my roof to install solar panels?
A: A typical residential solar electric system can be installed in about 100 to 500 square feet of roof space.
Q: Does the angle of my roof matter?
A: A “pitch” of 25-45% is ideal but other roofs can work too.
Q: How do I know what size system I need?
A: Our design team will figure that out for you. But as a general guideline—a typical residential solar electric system is between 1000 and 5000 watts and will produce between 1000 and 6000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity per year.
Q: How much money can I save by installing a solar electric system?
A: Producing your own clean electricity with solar power will reduce your annual electrical bill by about P200 to P10,000 the first year. You should see savings from P10,000 to P50,000 or more over the next 25 years depending on your solar system and usage.
Q: What are RECs and how do they work?
A: Think of an REC (Renewable Energy Certificate – RA9513) as a unit of value for the “green-ness” of the solar energy you produce. As part of an ambitious renewable energy development program in Philippines, the state has set targets for solar and other green energy technologies. What this means to you is that you can sell the value of the solar energy you produce in a market created specifically for RECs. So in addition to reducing your electric bill, your solar electric system can generate several thousands of pesos in tax-free income each year for ten years.
Q: How long do solar electric systems last?
A: Solar electric systems are designed to last more than 20 years, and most systems will still be producing power in 30-50 years. We only offer the best Solar PV panels that come with up to 1-year warranty.
Q: Besides installation costs, what other costs might there be with a solar electric system?
A: The price we quote you covers all aspects of designing and installing your system. However, if your main breaker panel is not large enough to accommodate the addition of solar or if the wiring is old, you may need to have your wiring updated. Additionally, if your roof has less than 10 years of life left, we recommend replacing it before you have the solar electric system installed. Because a solar system will be in place more than 25 years, it is best to start with a roof that has plenty of life left.
Q: Will I have electricity during a power outage?
A: No. With a straight grid-tied system without batteries, even on a sunny day when your solar array is producing power, you will not have power in the home if the utility experiences a power outage. This is to protect the line-men working on the utility grid. If you absolutely need power during an outage, your system must have batteries. This adds cost and complexity to the installation but can be done, and we do offer this service.
Q: Will I be helping the environment if I install a solar electric system on my home?
A: ABSOLUTELY! You will be using less fossil fuel each and every day and producing your own non-polluting power.
B.) Commercial
1.) Solar for Commercial
Solar systems are now becoming a business differentiator in small- to medium-sized businesses – hotel, restaurants, rice mill, gas stations, school dormitory, etc. More and more companies are installing solar to cut operating costs (electric bill), lock in rising utility bills and find ways to generate new income.
Our CESSCO engineers, design consultants, and installers are committed to showing just how much savings and new business opportunities you can have for your business.
Our products and services include:
A solar electric system is virtually maintenance-free and pays for itself in about 4-8 years – the shortest time ever. After that, it generates income for six additional years, and savings for 30 or more years.

3.) FAQ for Commercial
Q: How long does it take to pay off the investment in my solar electric system?
A: It will only take approximately 7-8 years once REC (RA-9513) is approved and solar PV owners can take advantage of Feed-In-Tariff (FIT) rate. Feed-In-Tariff rate is the price approved by the government for the utility companies (grid) to buy back unused energy from solar PV owners. This generates an additional income aside from lowering down electric utility bill. Compare this to the 15 to 20 years it took to earn your money back, just a few years ago.
Q: What benefits does solar offer for business owners?
A: There are many benefits:
Q: What is involved in a typical solar panel installation?
A: Solar electric installations are quite simple but there’s a bit of engineering and design involved depending on your requirement —though it’s virtually maintenance-free once installed. The panels are mounted on the roof or ground-mounted on your land, and connected to either inverters mounted inside or to micro-inverters mounted under the solar panels.

A: The actual installation is quick, a few days usually. The process, including utility interconnection arrangements, takes a bit longer. But don’t worry, we will handle most of the work, and keep you apprised of the timing every step of the way. We will agree on a specific timetable for your project with you.
Q: What are RECs and how do they work?
A: Think of an REC (Renewable Energy Certificate – RA 9513) as a unit of value for the “green-ness” of the solar energy you produce. As part of an ambitious renewable energy development program in the Philippines, the government has set targets for solar as a source of renewable energy. What this means to you is that you can sell the value of the solar energy you produce in a market created specifically for RECs. So in addition to reducing your electric bill, your Solar PV system can generate tens of thousands of pesos in tax-free income each year for next ten years or for the life of the panels.

This adds cost and complexity to the installation but can be done, and we do offer this service.
Q: Can I cover my roof with solar panels?
A: Solar panels are extremely shade intolerant, so trees and other obstructions that may shade the panels must be avoided. Often 50-80% of roof space is usable.
C.) Getting Started
1.) Where to Start?
It’s starts when you contact us with your information. One of our expert design consultant is waiting over the phone to collect your requirements. A member of our design team will validate the data and then we’ll call you to schedule a visit at your home/business to discuss your options.
To get started, we need basic information – like your address, and a typical electric bill amount—we will be able to calculate the amount of energy you’ll need to run your home. 2.) Why Solar Works in Philippines?
![]() |
In general, the Philippines receive a lot of sunlight (Solar Radiation) no matter where you are or which day of the year. The more sunlight the PV cell receives, the more electrical power is produced. In fact, PV cell converts light sunlight into electrical power even when there is some cloud cover in the sky or when it is completely clouded over. Even artificial light can be used in this way. But, of course, the yield depends on the quantity of light. But not all PV cells are the same. The higher the efficiency of a cell, the better its ability to convert radiant light into electric power. PSPA only offer the most efficient Solar PV panels that come with up to 25-year warranty. Call us today and we’ll show you how you can benefit from solar technology. |
